There comes a time in every person’s life, where they feel stuck and unmotivated. Even the most productive and highly enthusiastic people go through this phase. If you are here reading this, you are likely experiencing something like this too. Let me assure you that you are not alone. It is very natural and human to not know where your life is going, or if it is going somewhere at all. If you are looking for some practical ways to get unstuck and transform your life, then keep reading.
It is time to take control of your life and get rid of your limiting believes. Small changes in your daily routine and a shift in your mindset can do wonders.

1. Understand the reason

To get unstuck, it is imperative to know what are you stuck at and why?

Understand the reason behind feeling stuck.

Is it your job, your relationship, your health or any other thing that is weighing you down?

Find the main reason and make changes to improve that sphere of life.


2. Get unstuck by developing new habits

If you want to bring a change in your life, you have to start doing things differently.

Create new healthy habits and have a productive daily routine.

Wake up early and move your body. Eat healthy food and spend quality time with yourself.

Often it is our routine that ties us down and stops us from achieving success.

Break bad habits and follow a routine that keeps you busy.

The more inactive you are, the more time to have to think. And often, it is not your situation but the negative thoughts that make your life miserable.

So, stop thinking and start doing.

I have heard many people say that self-improvement books don’t help and that they don’t tell you something new.

Self-help books are one of the best ways to get unstuck. They help you build a strong inner voice and a relationship with your true self.

Pick up the right book and read it with an open mind.

No one solution fits all. This applies to books as well. So, explore your nearest bookstore, start reading and find your new favorite book.

Make books, your best friends. You can learn so much once you start enjoying reading,


4. Get unstuck by doing what you love

Ask yourself – what are you passionate about and what is it that makes you feel alive?

Do more of those things that bring a smile to your face.

Remember what your hobbies were as a child and resume those hobbies. Bring back that child in you, that got lost while adulting.

If your childhood hobbies don’t excite you anymore, find a new hobby.

Try something new for at least 20 – 30 days and notice what impact it has on you, before giving up.

Do something daily out of love just for yourself and not because your job demands it.


5. Get unstuck by practicing self-care

One of the main reasons to feel stuck and unmotivated is lack of self-love.

Sometimes all you need is to pamper yourself and practice self-care.

Self-care is neither selfish nor time-consuming. See it as an investment.

Make your happiness your ultimate goal in life, and I am sure you’ll find plenty of time to take care of yourself.

It is important to make yourself a priority. Expect care and love from yourself first, before expecting it from someone else.

6. Declutter the mess

Rearrange the furniture and redecorate your room.

If you are living in a messy house, declutter it. Clean your house and organize your stuff.

Although, it seems convenient to throw the pizza boxes on the floor because after all, you don’t feel like doing anything, RIGHT? But it just creates an environment of laziness and negativity.

So, get out of your cozy bed and get into organization mode.

Sometimes to see things clearly in your head, you need to decongest the physical world around you.

Start decluttering your home, and then your mind.


7. Get unstuck by journaling

After your home, it is time to declutter your thoughts and emotions.

Journaling is my favorite way to find my lost motivation and get started whenever I feel stuck in life.

Maintain a journal and write about your feeling and emotions.

Each day write about how you feel and the reason behind those feelings. I am sure, after a few days, you’ll realize what is tying you down and keeping you stuck.

Most of the times, it is not our situation that needs rectification but the way we react to it.


8. Take a trip

Go out on a small vacation.

Take a break from your job and household duties and change your scenery.

The trip doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy. And if you are extremely tight on a budget, take a day trip. And do it now.

Do not wait for that bonus or your promotion to travel. Back your bags and get away from the monotony.

Travelling is not only enjoyable, but it also gives you a fresh perspective on life.

And who knows, maybe a fresh perspective is what you need.


9. Have a goal and a plan

When you do not know where to go and what to expect from your life, it is super easy to feel stuck.

Have a goal and make a plan to achieve that goal.

Also, understand the difference between a wish and a goal.

“I want to be rich. It would solve all my problems”, is not a goal but a wish.

If you want to be rich, your goal should be earning more money.

Let’s say earn extra $500 each month is your goal. To achieve this goal, you need to have a plan.

How would you make this thing happen? In the above case, maybe by starting a side hustle or by picking up another job.

Go after your goals with all your heart till you achieve success. Life is more exciting when you work hard towards your dreams.

Keep yourself busy and do not let negative thoughts affect your zeal to change your life.


10. Talk to someone

Talk to a friend, your partner or family. Tell them what you are going through and how you are feeling.

Take it all out what you have in your mind.

To get fresh ideas and perspectives, first, you need to get rid of all the negativity and junk that is taking up all the space in your mind.

It is not wrong to ask for help. I am sure your loved ones won’t mind stretching their hand to help you get unstuck.
